What
is Reflexology?
Reflexology
is an "holistic therapy". This means that it treats the mind,
body and soul. During the treatment your feet will be massaged to relax
them. Next, the therapist will use gentle pressure on areas of the foot
know as "reflexes". Each reflex corresponds to a different part
of the body. In this way, the therapist can get a picture of your general
health from the textures felt in the reflexes.
Pressure
on the reflexes stimulates the natural healing processes by increasing
the flow of the body's energy. The therapist can detect blockages in this
enery flow as "crystals" in the feet. As the energy flow is
improved, unwanted toxins are removed restoring balance throughout the
body.
Reflexology
is beneficial to everyone as a general form of relaxation but can be particularly
effective in bringing relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
These include (but not exclusively):- stress, migranes, hormonal imbalances,
digestive disorders, sports injuries, sleeping disorders and arthritis.
It is also frequently used as a palliative treatment for cancer and MS
sufferers. Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.
